Daffodils

September 18, 2018

I versed
From a mobile photo sent
By a classmate visiting the antipodes
Walking in a park
Full of daffodils in spring
In incandescent yellow against green
Flowers alien to my growing up
My land my birth
Without seasons
Yet so familiar to me
From a poem
I learnt in school
How well I know daffodils
So fresh
I can smell it
Even if I had not seen to touch
Until much later in my life
And now they want it online
In words not worthy
