Like silent sentinels
In rows and rows, they dwell
Laden with books
Filling every cranny and nook
Chaucer, Stevenson even Blyton
The list exhaustingly churns
From dinosaurs to astronomy
From friction to anatomy
Shoulders hunched over
Furrowed brows, eyes lowered
Deafening silence
Patience and resilience
Every dot, every line
Challenges the mind
Romance brew
With marriage in view
