The wall flower
August 23, 2016
The wallflower got tired
Waiting on the wall.
She could not wait
To see the world outside
When off the wall she fell
One day…
The wind brought her
To a bank you see.
It opened her eyes
To more
Than she had ever seen
The banking world
With all sorts
Colleagues and customers
Clients and workers
Bosses and managers
Some competitors
Some remained strangers.
Some became friends
One day
She met one destined
To be
Her life’s companion
Forever more.
She felt loved
She was treasured.
One day
He had to leave
To study overseas
Even the distance
Between oceans
Could not keep them apart
There were letters
Arriving from distant shores
To keep her heart
Burning with hope that
One day
He will return
And the wall flower
Will never ever
Be lonely again.
He did return!
Once again the wallflower
Blossomed
She dressed herself
In pretty petals.
Dancing merrily
She was happy!
Never again
A wallflower to be.
